  • Asthma is the most chronic condition of the lungs. When asthma is not controlled, it can negatively impact daily life. New innovative treatments are being researched to help alleviate the symptoms of chronic asthma.​

  • Studies are important because they see what kind of side effects a drug may have and if it can help the people who need it. The informed consent has detailed information about the study, including the possible benefits and risks to taking part and this will be reviewed with you in detail should you be eligible to participate.

  • There are no costs to participate in this study. The treatment that you receive from the study will be paid for by the study. Any additional treatment that you receive outside of the study will be your responsibility.​

  • You may be able to join this study if you are 18 years or older, have asthma and a BMI (Body Mass Index) ≥27. You must meet the study’s eligibility criteria which are outlined in the full informed consent which will be reviewed with you in detail should you be eligible to participate.   • The study is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2022 and continue until 100 participants are identified. Please contact us to learn more about joining the study.

  • Clinical Trials, also called medical trials, are research studies that test new ways to prevent, screen for, diagnose, or treat disease. They are the main way that researchers find out if a new treatment, like a new medication, is safe and effective in people.​

  • Treatment can help asthma, but there is not known cure. Asthma is a chronic disease, so it is long-lasting and won't go away.​
